B Corp Certified: a different kind of law firm

Cognitive Law is proud to be B Corp Certified.

For us, this means more than achieving a certification. It reflects our belief that a law firm can be commercially successful while also caring about its people, clients, communities and wider impact.

We are a different kind of law firm - built around flexibility, purpose, high-quality legal advice and positive impact.

What B Corp means

B Corp Certification is awarded to businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. The assessment looks at the whole business, including governance, workers, customers, community and the environment.

For Cognitive Law, the process has helped us strengthen the way we operate and formalise commitments that have long been part of our culture.

Why it matters to clients

When you choose Cognitive Law, you are choosing a law firm that takes its responsibilities seriously. We support clients through important and often stressful legal matters. Our approach is clear, personal and client-centred.

Why it matters to consultant lawyers

Cognitive Law was created to offer lawyers a different way to practise. Our consultancy model gives experienced lawyers the freedom to manage their own time, clients and workload, while being supported by a regulated firm with strong systems, governance and community.

Our community commitment

Community is central to the way we work. We support local suppliers, local referrers, local clients and local charities. We run a successful business networking event called First Friday Lunch Club. This not-for-profit monthly networking event in Brighton and Hove, brings together professionals from different sectors and gives charities a platform to share their work.

We are extremely proud to support charities close to our hearts including Focus Foundation, St Barnabas House, The Starr Trust, George’s Rockstars and most recently Sophie’s Legacy.

B Corp Certification is not the end of the journey. It is a commitment to keep improving, keep learning and keep holding ourselves accountable.
