Ewan qualified as a solicitor in Scotland in 1999. Since then he has accumulated over 20 years of legal experience, developed across various sectors including law firms, the private sector, and within government and academic institutions. He qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court in England and Wales in 2007.
Initially Ewan practised in the courts of Scotland before moving to the Channel Islands in 2005. He worked in legal roles in private trust companies and with two of the largest offshore law firms (Mourant and Walkers). During this time Ewan advised on a diverse range of non-contentious and contentious trust and corporate matters for a local and international client base. He has acted for many institutional clients in high value mergers and acquisitions as well as high net worth individuals and their families.
Ewan and his family returned to Scotland in 2018. Since then he has been a member of the legal contracts team at the University of Dundee and latterly as legal counsel with TV Squared, a technology company operating globally.
Ewan joined Cognitive Law as a consultant solicitor in January 2021 and is committed to providing the best possible legal solutions in an efficient and constructive manner at an affordable price. He is approachable and friendly.

Outside of work Ewan enjoys cycling, skiing and other outdoor pursuits including golf. He lives on the east coast of Scotland with his family.
