After hearing this statement time and again from recruitment CEO’s, Paul Glynn (recruitment FD and owner of Aristar Consulting) put together the Aspiring FDs programme to help high potential heads of finance take the step up to becoming effective recruitment FDs. The programme involves case studies, interactive sessions and well known industry speakers over a 6 month period to kick-start the attendees journey to operating at board level.
Aspiring FDs launched in early 2017 and two cohorts have now successfully completed their 6 month programme. Whilst the content and speakers have gone down really well, the real power within the groups has been the creation of a really strong peer network. A network of people in the same role as themselves, with the same stakeholders, same legislative issues – basically the same day to day challenges. Lucy Tarrant, Managing Director at Cognitive Law has the pleasure of teaching one of the legal modules on the course. The course was designed to be incredibly interactive, delegates have to work closely together throughout and this creates really strong bonds within the group.
